ST. GEORGE, GRENADA, OCT. 27, 2015 GIS: Prime Ministers of Grenada and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago have agreed that the Draft MoU on ICT that was being developed between Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago would be examined with a view to finalizing the arrangement in the shortest time frame (to be driven by Minister).
The critical importance of ICT for the development of their respective countries was discussed during a Port of Spain meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley of the Republic Trinidad and Tobago, and Dr. Keith Mitchell of Grenada.
Prime Minister Mitchell shared that in his capacity as Prime Minister with responsibility for Science and Technology, he firmly believed that ICT constitutes a key development driver and thus, it is an area to which he had accorded significant attention.
Prime Minister Rowley in agreeing on the importance of ICT, advised that the ICT thrust in Trinidad and Tobago at the public sector level, now fell to the Ministry of Public Administration since the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education no longer existed.
Nevertheless, the Prime Ministers agreed to move forward with appointing their respective line ministers to follow up and finalise the draft MoU.
