Regional tech community gathers in Jamaica

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- Anyone interested in the development of the Internet in Caribbean may have already heard of CaribNOG, the Caribbean Network Operators Group. Over the past decade, this volunteer-based community of computer engineers has grown into a formidable influencer in the regional technology arena. Today, its twice-yearly regional gatherings are among the most highly anticipated events on the Caribbean’s tech calendar.

Prime Minister congratulates re-elected leader of St. Vincent and the Grenadines

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, December 11, 2015 - GIS: Grenada's Prime Minister, Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell, congratulates his counterpart, the re-elected Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.
Dr. Gonsalves and his United Labour Party secured 8 Seats to defeat the opposition New Democratic Party, winch emerged with a total of 7 seats.

Grenada and Trinidad to work together on ICT development

ST. GEORGE, GRENADA, OCT. 27, 2015 GIS: Prime Ministers of Grenada and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago have agreed that the Draft MoU on ICT that was being developed between Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago would be examined with a view to finalizing the arrangement in the shortest time frame (to be driven by Minister).
The critical importance of ICT for the development of their respective countries was discussed during a Port of Spain meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley of the Republic Trinidad and Tobago, and Dr. Keith Mitchell of Grenada.

Demonstration on Electricity Generation using Liquefied Natural Gas

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Tuesday, December 08, 2015: The Energy Unit of the Ministry of Finance and Energy, in collaboration with ICON LNG Limited, will be staging a practical demonstration on the use of a mixture of Diesel and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to generate Electricity, on Friday, December 11th, 2015 at the PetroCaribe LPG Plant site, Queen’s Park.

CTU brings regional technology entrepreneurship seminar to Grenada

GRAND ANSE, Grenada - A regional workshop recently held in Grenada encouraged local entrepreneurs to leverage cutting-edge technology to develop world-class products and services which address challenges facing Caribbean society.
The workshop, held at the Grenada Grand Beach Resort, Grand Anse on March 24th and 25th, was part of a broader World Bank-funded initiative called CARCIP, the Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Program, coordinated by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU).
